Breast Implants for Lift Mastopexy for Deflated Hanging Breasts

Breasts may become more pendulous in all women in time. Where the nipple was once well above the crease under the breast (the inframammary crease), in time has settled lower. Pregnancy, breast feeding, and weight change or gain may all contribute to the breast's sagging more or becoming more pendulous.

In some women the breasts have just lost volume and become more flattened in the upper portion so there is no cleavage with or without a bra. But the skin may not have stretched too much and the nipple may not have descended too far.

In this group of women breast implants alone my be all that is needed to restore the breasts to a size and contour which is fuller and higher. A breast lift or mastopexy might have made all of their nipples and breasts higher, but would also require more extensive incisions and scars which these patients did not want.

This 32 year old woman had breast fed one child, but experienced considerable breast deflation. Bilateral 320 cc saline implants placed through nipple periareolar incisions elevated and filled the breasts.
