Case 3 A 32 year old man was born with an absent right chest pectoral muscle, Poland's syndrome. A custom implant was sculpted by Dr. Gallico and the custom implant was placed through the armpit with improved symmetry. Case 3 Dr. Gallico will use his artistic training to sculpt a custom pectoral muscle implant mold which will be transformed into a permanent chest pectoral muscle implant which can be inserted through the armpit. Rodrig

Case 3 The custom mold created by Dr. Gallico is converted into a custom permanent chest pectoral muscle Silastic implant and is shown during surgery in the position it will have under the chest tissue. Silastic is a 'surgical rubber' which is permanent, non-toxic and of a texture which will be similar to that of the normal chest pectoral muscle. Rodrig

Case 5. This 29 year old man had a mild deficiency of his right pectoral chest muscle despite vigorous chest exercises. In addition, he felt that his left pectoral chest muscle was not as large as he would have liked despite steady chest muscle exercises. A large size pectoral chest muscle implant (non-custom, stock, 'off the shelf') was placed through the armpit under the right pectoral muscle and a medium size pectoral chest muscle implant was placed on the left side. The resulting improved symmetry of the chest pectoral muscles can be seen in these before and after pictures.

Case 5. This 29 year old man had a mild deficiency of his right pectoral chest muscle despite vigorous chest exercises. In addition, he felt that his left pectoral chest muscle was not as large as he would have liked despite steady chest muscle exercises. A large size pectoral chest muscle implant (non-custom, stock, 'off the shelf') was placed through the armpit under the right pectoral muscle and a medium size pectoral chest muscle implant was placed on the left side. Case 6 A 55 year old man had lived his life with a major asymmetry of his chest pectoral muscles. Dr. Gallico sculpted a custom mold to fill out the defect of the right chest and this mold was converted to a custom Silastic implant. The implant was placed through the chest wall scar which was already present from previous surgery on his ribs. The left breast was reduced in size and sagging ptosis by liposuction liposculpture. Case 8 The same patient is shown during surgery with the custom Silastic implant placed over the defect in the right chest pectoral muscle showing how it will add to the defective right chest pectoral muscle. The implant was placed through the incision line in the armpit and its tapered contour blended well with the normal chest pectoral muscle above. The Silastic material is soft and will last forever.
