Inverted Indented Nipple Correction Dr. G. Gregory Gallico

Inverted or Indented Nipple Eversion Correction

Some women have one or both nipples which have developed with the normal part of the nipple which sticks out inverted or indented. Sometimes the nipple can be brought out from its indented position by stimulation, but sometimes it remains inverted or indented. The inverted, indented nipple can be brought out or everted by a surgical procedure. This surgery can be performed on its own under local anesthesia or may be done at the time of other breast surgery such as breast implant enlargement augmentation, breast lift mastopexy, or breast reduction.

An inverted indented nipple can be brought out or everted or made more prominent or sticiking out by surgical nipple eversion susrgery.

This 37 year old woman had developed an inverted indented nipple on her left side and this nipple was brought back to normal prominence by nipple eversion surgery. Sensation was retained; she did not wish to breast feed in the future so retention of that function was not important. Her left breast is shown in before and after pictures.

During breast lift maastopexy surgery the indented right nipple was brought out to normal prominence by nipple eversion.

This 37 year old woman wished to have her indented inverted right nipple everted and brought back to normal prominence by nipple eversion at the same time as breast lifting mastopexy. Her right breast is shown in before and after pictures.

During breast lift maastopexy surgery the indented right nipple was brought out to normal prominence by nipple eversion

This 42 year old woman had a severely indented and inverted nipple on the left breast. The nipple was returned to a more prominent everted position by surgery to make the nipple more prominent and stick out more. The scar is completely concealed around the bottom perimeter of the nipple. The before and after pictures are shown.
