Inverted Nipple Eversion

Prominent Nipple Reduction

PROMINENT NIPPLE REDUCTION: Normal breast nipples can become more prominent or stick out too far because of pregnancy or breast feeding or just over the course of time. Prominent nipples which stick out too far or are too big can be reduced to a normal contour by nipple reduction. Depending on the size and shape of the enlarged nipples, Dr. Gallico will use several different surgical techniques to bring them back to a normal size and shape which is in better proportion to the breast.

INVERTED NIPPLE EVERSION: On the other hand some women have indented nipples which never became prominent at puberty and remain indented. The nipple can be brought out to have a more normal prominence and appearance by a technique of internal suturing developed by Dr. Gallico.

Prominent or stretched nipples which stick out too much from breast feeding can be reduced and made less prominent by nipple reduction surgery.

PROMINENT NIPPLE REDUCTION

This 29 year old woman had marked stretching of her nipples from breast feeding two children. The nipple had not only become too long, but rounded in a bulbous way. The result of Dr. Gallico's nipple reduction is shown in before and after pictures. The prominent nipple can be reduced to any degree the patient wishes with preservation of nipple sensation.

An inverted indented nipple can be brought out or everted or made more prominent or sticiking out by surgical nipple eversion surgery.

INVERTED NIPPLE EVERSION

This 37 year old woman wished to have her indented inverted right nipple everted and brought back to normal prominence by nipple eversion at the same time as breast lifting mastopexy. Her right breast is shown in before and after pictures.
