The nose can be reshaped outside and in to create a new more pleasing shape. The extent of the surgery will be planned in advance through drawings by Dr. Gallico and digital computer simulation so that you will choose how much of a change that you want. Dr. Gallico will work with you before surgery to find exactly how you want your nose to look. You, the patient, will decide as much as possible what final appearance of the nose you want - Dr. Gallico will be guided by your wishes.

Dr. Gallico's expertise and experience allows him to do the surgery completely through the nostrils; you do not need an external scar of an 'open rhinoplasty', which is a 'give-away' of a nose job to all who see it.

He has pioneered the use of DIGITAL COMPUTER SIMULATION to help the patient to see and choose in advance what the outcomes of nasal shape can be and what they would like their nose to look like. Of course, the computer simulation cannot show exactly what the nose will look like, but the computer pictures will be a big help to you and to Dr. Gallico in providing the nose you will be happy with.

Dr. Gallico will sit with the patient before surgery, and they will work together to look at various possible contours that might be achieved by rhinoplasty surgery. In the above illustration, the three upper pictures are the digital computer simulation with the original nose on the left and two possible contours which might be chosen by the patient as a contour after surgery. The pictures below show the actual surgical before and after pictures and illustrate that the computer simulation provides a reasonably realistic plan of what might be achieved by Dr. Gallico's surgery.

Nose surgery is performed as an outpatient under either general or twilight-local anesthesia depending on the patient's wishes. You, the patient, will decide what level of anesthesia you want.
